The large seed pod comes from the Pterygota alata tree that is native to forests of many South-East Asian countries such as India, Myanmar and northern Malaysia.
The Buddha fruit pods are round and split on one side. They produce many winged seeds that are scattered by the wind.
The nut is untreated and can be placed in any terrarium. It not only enhances the terrarium, it also offers protection for the animals. The Buddha Nut is also ideal as a water reservoir, as water collects in the shell after each spraying.
These pods are a long lasting botanical, after extensive testing we have found them to show minimal breakdown even after months of submersion.
