Bracken (Pteridium) is a genus of large, coarse ferns in the family Dennstaedtiaceae. Ferns (Pteridophyta) are vascular plants that have alternating generations. Brackens are noted for their large, highly divided leaves. They are found on all continents except Antarctica and in all environments except deserts, though their typical habitat is moorland. The genus probably has the widest distribution of any fern in the world.
During seasonal changes the fern stems/leaves die off and are perfect to be used within an aquatic or natural setup. The ferns give that natural "jungle" feel due to their exotic look and will offer a truely unique item to be placed underwater in a tannin filled fish tank.
These fronds are hand collected via rural woodlands within in the UK.
Please note due to the small leaves of the fern they are known to drop off the stem of the frond or stems may break in transit.
