Strychnos nux-vomica, the strychnine tree, also known as nux vomica, poison fruit, semen strychnos, and quaker buttons, is a deciduous tree native to India and to southeast Asia. It is a medium-sized tree in the family Loganiaceae that grows in open habitats. Its leaves are ovate and 5–9 centimetres (2–3.5 in) in size
The seeds pods of the Kuchila Tree are often used in natural setups and can be hard wearing due to the tough shell of the pod. These items make a great hiding spot for many animals including fish and shrimp.
These pods are a long lasting botanical and are known to show minimal breakdown after months of submersion.
As the pods are small they are a perfect addition for nano setups.
